Dr. In’t Veld cares for glaucoma and general eye health with a steady hand and listening ear. She believes success begins with understanding each patient’s world.
Where did you go to school and complete your training?
Medical school at the University of South Dakota. Residency and fellowship at Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, Michigan. I specialize in cataract surgery and medical and surgical glaucoma.
What drew you to a career in eye care?
I was drawn to the opportunity to improve quality of life with cataract surgery. I take extra time to help patients understand what is going on with their eyes and which lens options will benefit them most. With glaucoma, I am able to build long-term relationships. It is a challenging disease to manage, and I am glad to provide fellowship-trained subspecialty care to the area.
What is something patients might be surprised to learn about you?
I love learning new skills. I taught myself how to finish drywall and how to build a dresser from scratch.
Any hobbies, side passions, or fun talents outside of medicine?
Golf and learning new skills. I have dabbled in woodworking and made the artwork displayed in my exam rooms. I am currently working on my baking skills, including sourdough, and someday hope to master French macarons.
What is your go-to coffee order (or beverage of choice)?
Starbucks when they have the Pistachio Cold Brew. Otherwise, the Oatmilk Crafted Press at Caribou.
Are you a cat or dog person?
Dog. I am obsessed with corgis.
What was the last concert you went to?
Nate Bargatze for a comedy show. The last music concert was Arctic Monkeys.
What is your favorite local spot for food, coffee, or getting outside?
I love getting a beer at WoodGrain and any excuse to get macarons from CH Patisserie.
