Full-time Medical Receptionist/Scheduler

Normal hours are Monday – Friday, 8AM – 5PM. Hours may vary slightly depending on satellite clinics.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Meet and greet patients
  • Provide information about medical services, insurance, and general account information
  • Register new patients and update existing patient demographic and insurance information
  • Receive and route all incoming telephone calls and schedule patient appointments
  • Send new patient information packets, initiate appointment reminder calls, manage wait lists, and send recall reminders for follow-up appointments; coordinate interpreter services and transportation as needed
  • Create and route all patient phone message details via the electronic medical record or written note to charge nurse and/or appropriate clinical staff; route emergent calls as appropriate
  • Understand and implement financial policies, collection of co-payments or non-covered services, and self-pay balances
  • Follow appointment guidelines and policy for managing recurring missed appointments
  • Balance and close payment batches and petty cash at the end of each day
  • Opening/closing clinic protocols, securing doors, monies, and transferring phones to after-hour service
  • Handle patient concerns in an appropriate and professional manner
  • Demonstrate knowledge of services provided within the practice
  • Monitor and maintain work and reception areas
  • May serve as a primary scheduler to a specific doctor, preparing and managing appointment schedules and protocols
  • May travel to satellite locations
  • Assist with Medical Record duties as needed
  • Answer overflow of phone calls from front desk or other areas and direct appropriately


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer post-secondary education courses in computer, accounting, business and/or management
  • Educational courses in CPT and ICD-9 coding in a medical practice is beneficial
  • Understanding of medical terminology and anatomy is helpful
  • Computer skills and customer service skills

Full-time Registered Nurse

This is a float position which will work under the direction and supervision of a variety of ophthalmologists.

Monday - Friday; no evening, overnight, or weekend shifts!

Nursing responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Providing physical and psychological care for patients in a professional manner
  • Assist in managing clinical and surgical schedules
  • Perform patient work ups including gathering health information and performance of ophthalmic assessments
  • Perform diagnostic tests
  • Assist with minor procedures
  • Triage of phone messages and patient needs
  • Participate in patient and staff education
  • Assist clinic manager in other nursing areas such as staff management, quality improvement, special projects/needs
